Raised in a suburb of New York City and then of Boston, Dr. Palmer graduated from the University of Vermont in 2007, and moved to Portland, OR in 2008. His experience with LASIK surgery in 2010 sparked a more serious interest in eye care, which led him to a cataract and refractive surgery center where he worked as a technician prior to attending Pacific University College of Optometry graduating in 2016. His clinical training included primary care optometry, medical care at a high volume surgical referral center, evaluation of binocular vision disorders, and working with active duty military and their families. He is active in local and state optometric associations, a local rotary club, and the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce.
Outside the office, Dr. Palmer enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time with his wife, Joanna, and golden retriever, Snooper.
